Gabriel Kemeny is a forward-thinking agent of change with consistent achievement driving process improvements and providing management expertise for “Fortune 100” corporations. He is results-focused, with a track record of generating revenues, producing significant savings, and facilitating overall corporate-wide enhancements through implementing Lean Six Sigma principles and tools. As a certified Master Black Belt and expert trainer, Gabe is recognized globally for delivering top-rated consulting and coaching to senior leaders within manufacturing, engineering and transactional environments.

Gabe has been a member of the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (2010-2011). In this capacity he evaluated applicants for the Award using the Criteria for Performance Excellence.

Gabe has led a number of Lean Six Sigma global implementations in several countries and languages, including large corporations, such as Dow Chemical, Caterpillar, Dana, Service Master, Shell, Pitney Bowes, Arrow Electronics, IBM and others. Projects have included executive training and coaching, project selection, Green, Black and Master Black Belt (DMAIC and DMEDI) training, coaching and certification. Gabe has trained and coached a number of highly visible Design for Lean Six Sigma (DMEDI) projects in product and service developments at a global level. Gabe has also accumulated considerable experience in the establishment of process-based cultures in highly departmentalized organizations. Recent projects:

  • Major Investment Company – Developed content for Lean Six Sigma training, and has trained and coached senior executive team, steering committee, middle managers, and more than 300 process improvement team leaders. Has coached more than 150 financial process improvement projects.
  • International Mining Corporation – Trained and coached Black and Green Belts, as well as Lean Belts in the North and South American Regions.
  • Global Pharmaceutical Company – Developed content for Lean Six Sigma “Just-In-Time” training for employees from new large acquisition. Developed wide selection of Black Belt and Green Belt tests for training and certification purposes. Developed Lean Six Sigma “eLearning” modules for online delivery.
  • Multi-National Technology and Services Corporation - Achieved 4.9 out of 5 rating in overall training/coaching formal evaluation from participants; trained 550 Green Belts and 200 Black Belts. Developed Green and Black Belt training curriculum for internal use and for external clients.
  • Global Distributor of Electronic Components - Established curriculum for worldwide deployment; devised infrastructure for implementation; trained CEO and senior leaders across US, as well as continuous improvement project leaders and team members. Expanded efforts to Europe and Asia-Pacific regions.
  • International Document Management Service Company - As project manager and consultant, trained 60 Black Belts and coached 30 process improvement teams in the USA. Expanded training and coaching to Europe. Conducted train-the-trainer workshops and coached and certified Master Black Belt candidates.
  • Global Road Construction and Agriculture Equipment Corporation - Trained and coached Green and Black Belts, senior leaderships, champions, process owners, and managers. Developed and certified Master Black Belts with expertise in Six Sigma Process Improvement (DMAIC) and Design for Six Sigma (DMEDI) methodologies. Received formal recognition and letter of commendation by president for achievements. Trained and led global product development teams using DMEDI from concept through launch, becoming first successfully launched products on global basis by Brazilian Division. Invited back to provide training and consulting services for most important suppliers.

Prior to his current professional activities, Gabriel was a Senior Managing Consultant for IBM and PricewaterhouseCoopers, Corporate Reengineering Leader for AlliedSignal Aerospace, Senior Consultant for High Voltage Engineering, Quality Manager and Senior Project Engineer for AlliedSignal Aerospace, and Quality Manager for Embraer Aircraft.

Education and Other

Gabriel Kemeny has a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica, S.J.Campos, Brazil, and MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, São Paulo, Brazil, and additional post-graduate education in engineering at University of São Paulo and Purdue University.

A certified Master Black Belt, Gabriel has taught Quality at Indiana University and has been a guest speaker at the University of Notre Dame, Purdue University, The Conference Board, NASA, Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE, Tokyo) and at many chapters of the American Society for Quality. He is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and, for pleasure, plays cello in chamber music ensembles.
Michael Reames is widely recognized for his ability to advise senior leaders, to set strategy-based project priorities, and to coach and instruct in the Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodology. He has been an enthusiastic Quality Professional for more than 20 years. His extensive background in Continuous Process Improvement is reinforced by considerable expertise as a change management facilitator and statistical analyst. As an internal and external consultant for a number of companies, he has enabled such accomplishments as major cost reductions, large increases in customer satisfaction, and elimination of process inefficiencies.

Michael serves with distinction as a Senior Examiner, Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (2010-2011, 1995-2002). He has evaluated and led many site visits of award finalists.

Michael has managed engagements and contributed to comprehensive Process Management/ Improvement activities at more than two dozen Fortune 500 manufacturing and service organizations. In addition to extensive training and coaching, these engagements included Lean Six Sigma implementation activities such as linking projects to strategy, developing project pipelines, and setting project priorities.

His consulting efforts contributed to the achievement of many noteworthy accomplishments:

  • Major pharmaceutical - Analyzed six months (750+) of tests; revamped LSS tests & training. Created “Just-In-Time” training modules for integration activities and laid groundwork for employee awareness (Yellow Belt) training.

  • Guided five global clients in completing improvement projects successfully. Each client achieved between three and five times the initial consulting investment for contracts lasting less than two years. These were comprehensive Lean Six Sigma implementation engagements starting with senior leadership awareness training and role modeling and included intensive training and coaching of project sponsors, Black Belts, and team members. In all engagements, Michael and his consulting team enabled the organizations to sustain the program after contract completion.

  • Trained 750 LSS practitioners in an effort that netted over $100 Million in financial benefits; median ratings of 4.9 on a 5-point scale by training participants.

  • Spearheaded a global LSS Certification program, facilitating and reviewing the certification of scores of Green Belts, Black Belts, and Master Black Belts.

Michael has served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. He became a Quality Trainer and internal consultant at NYNEX (now Verizon), where he also managed as a Fiber Optics Engineering team in the New York City metropolitan area.
